After 27 years with Northwestern Mutual Todd is giving back to the profession as a loaned executive of Northwestern Mutual to The American College. In his role as executive consultant at the American College, his focus is on marketing and distribution.
Todd began his Northwestern Mutual career in 1988 after graduating from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in finance and a J.D. in law. He built a successful personal practice in the Chicago area and developed a scratch field director unit, which spun off into a thriving district network office. In 1995, he joined the home office as an assistant regional director of agencies and in 1999 was appointed managing partner in New York City. In June 2006, Schoon was recruited back to the home office as vice president for the agencies function and he went on to lead the company’s distribution system as executive vice president - agencies.
In the community, Schoon is a board member of the Penfield Children’s Center and also serves on the board of The American College. He is married to Jen and they have two children.
